Can the Kennedy Center Survive Trump?

Katy Waldman says the administration is using the Kennedy Center as a laboratory for its ideas about arts and culture.

The Kennedy Center was a cultural hub that Eisenhower envisioned, it was a performing arts stage and a living memorial to President Kennedy .

Waldman: Trump has done much more of a DOGE -style takeover, where he's going in with a chainsaw and hacking up a pretty delicate ecosystem.

Trump and some of the officials he’s put in charge have basically said the Kennedy Center is in financial disarray.

From what I could tell, it was flourishing. It had money, and it was doing what it was supposed to be doing pre-Trump.

Ticket sales are down now, but donations have been paused, artists are pulling out.
