Mercedes-Benz to move U.S. production of one of its vehicles to Alabama plant

Mercedes-Benz announced Thursday that it will move production of one of its "core segment" vehicles to the United States .

The announcement comes nearly a month after President Donald Trump 's 25% tariff on imported vehicles took effect.

Mercedes did not specify which vehicle it will begin producing in the U.S. , but said a “core vehicle segment” would be manufactured at a factory in Alabama .
