Hundreds of pro-life activists are lobbying Congress to defund Planned Parenthood

Over 300 pro-life activists gathered on Capitol Hill Thursday to push lawmakers to defund Planned Parenthood .

Planned Parenthood was given around $699 million in taxpayer dollars in 2022-2023 , according to its most recent annual report.

The last time Republicans had a similar opportunity to gut Planned Parenthood of its funding was in 2017 , when the effort failed by one vote in the Senate .
