U.S. Department of Education revokes waivers allowing colleges in California and Oregon to provide services to illegal immigrants

Under the Biden Administration , some colleges had redirected taxpayer-funded TRIO program services, meant for low-income and first -generation students, to illegal immigrants.

The decision affects several universities in the two states, with formal notices sent to the institutions through their respective state education bodies.

U.S. taxpayer dollars will no longer be used to subsidize illegal immigrants through Department of Education programs.
