Jeffrey Goldberg , editor-in-chief of the Atlantic , now claims that the use of the Signal e-chat service by President Trump ’s foreign affairs team was, by itself, an act of recklessness.
Goldberg and co-author Shane Harris wrote in the Atlantic on Wednesday : “Experts have repeatedly told us that use of a Signal chat for such sensitive discussions poses a threat to national security.” This is 180 degrees opposite what the Atlantic wrote in 2017 , when it praised Signal as the platonic form of secure communications among high-level government officials.
