The U.S. Agency for International Development is cutting 1,600 jobs in the United States

The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced on Sunday that it is cutting 1,600 positions in the United States .

The agency said as of 11:59 pm ET that all “direct hire personnel” would be placed on administrative lead globally, with the exception of “designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership,” and those in charge of a few specific programs.
