Marcus Freeman swatted down a question from an ESPN reporter about how his race factored into Notre Dame's Orange Bowl win.

Freeman is the first black head coach to go to a national championship game in college football.

The Fighting Irish beat Penn State 27-24 in the Orange Bowl on Thursday night .
