Apple is a better example of a predatory infringer than Big Tech, says Adam Mossoff

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Abigail Slater to lead the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division .

Mossoff: Big Tech companies regularly engage in predatory infringement of patents owned by individual inventors, startups, and universities.

Apple has engaged in a yearslong campaign to devalue patents like those on 4 G and 5 G, crippling American innovators’ ability to invest, develop, and then deploy new technologies like 5G and 6G.

The PanOptis v. Apple case is currently pending on appeal in the U.K. with a decision expected in 2025 .

Adam Mossoff : The president-elect’s statement last week is encouraging to American innovators.

He says it signals his intent to return to the historical protection of reliable and effective patent rights.
