Francis Ford Coppola's latest film, Megalopolis , has been highly anticipated, hyped up, and dreaded.

Critics have been dismissive of the film, calling it a bloony, boring and bafflingly shallow film’ But, while it may not be shit, the movie is certainly no masterpiece.

The dialogue is often awkward, fusing present-day English with Shakespearian soliloquys.

Coppola ’s film is about a utopian city-within-a-city, Megalopolis , in which Cesar Catalina hopes to build a new city.

Catalina envisages creating a techno-utopia in which form and function are integrated.

But that project necessitates the demolition of existing neighbourhoods and the displacement of their already economically disenfranchised residents.
