Ethan Crumbley pleaded guilty in the fall , but his parents are on trial for involuntary manslaughter.

The prosecution says Ethan started to show signs of mental illness months before the shooting.

The prosecution says Ethan Crumbley had a journal where he wrote things to himself about his mental issues.

He had been looking up ammunition, and teachers had reprimanded him for drawing on a math paper that was being shot by a gun that looked identical to the one that Ethan had just been gifted as a present.

The prosecution wants to talk about the presence of firearms in the home and just how present they were.

Jennifer and James Crumbley were charged with involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of their son, Ethan , in Michigan .

The defense argued that they didn't consider Ethan posing a danger to anybody, or she would have taken him home then.

But the prosecution argued that she relied on professionals who made it seem very clearly they didn’t think Ethan posed a danger.
