The US is finally hitting back at Iran’s murderous proxies

Peter Bergen : Iran is unlikely to go to war with the U.S. for one simple reason: Iran 's rulers dare not attack American forces directly.

He says Iran 's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has consistently employed its proxies to attack US forces since 1983 .

Iran will not go beyond verbal attacks; put simply, it cannot afford to war, he says.
