Matthew McConaughey deflected a pointed question posed by Joy Behar during a Tuesday appearance on " The View " The actor has been outspoken about advocating for gun reform since the Uvalde , Texas , school shooting in 2022 .

He previously argued that gun control didn’t have popular support because of how it was framed.
