LZ Granderson: Are AI demons real? Are AI demon woman Loab, a Cautionary Tale? LZ: Loab is made out of empty space. She is the opposite of somethingno one is quite sure what.
LZ asks: If we shaped a simulacrum of our humanity, not as we are but as we have come to see ourselves, would we end up with a machine run by algorithmic rules?.
There is of course a serious possibility that Supercomposite made the whole thing up, or exaggerated it for clout, though she swears she didn't.
If Loab is real, then demons are real, if Loab could be real, at least in principle.
The patterns and tendencies we build into our machines are not value-neutral, nor will they ever be.
