Sen. Lisa Murkowski , R-Alaska, won concessions from Republicans who were desperate for her vote in the GOP tax bill.

The big concession Murkowski won is a provision that rewards Alaska for having one of the highest payment error rates in the SNAP program.

Alaska ’s payment error rate is the highest in the nation at 24.66% , but other states with high rates also qualify for the exemption.
