The lone game not in Kansas City to this point was played in St. Joseph in 1907 .
Missouri football coach Chester Brewer put out a call for alumni to “come home” for the game.
Missouri ended the season 2-4-2 with wins against William Jewell and Missouri School of Mines .
The Tigers lost to Iowa State , Nebraska and Oklahoma , tied Washington ( Mo. ) and lost to Saint Louis .
The series sat at 4-13-3 with two consecutive ties.
But for the first time, it was a home game and the tradition of Homecoming began.
