The GOP’s Big, Beautiful Bind

69% Informative
The House passed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by a vote of 215-214 , sending it to the Senate .
Julian Zelizer : Just two Republicans voted “nay” but 215 Republicans voted for the bill, including some who face tough reelection campaigns.
He says the bill cuts Medicaid and tightens eligibility for food stamps.
Zelizer says Democrats have an opportunity to seize on this “big, beautiful bill” to make it an opportunity.
The bill would also roll back Biden -era advancements in clean energy by gutting tax credits granted under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 .
The Senate will surely make changes to the bill, as even some Republicans appear intent on doing so.
If Democrats have their shit together, they will not let voters forget it.
