Gaza 's Hamas -run health ministry says one person was killed and 48 others were wounded.
The UN says most of the injuries were due to gunshots and that "it was shooting from the IDF [ Israel Defense Forces ]" The IDF said it was checking the reports and fired "warning shots" into the air.
Israel imposed a total blockade on humanitarian aid and commercial supplies to Gaza on 2 March .
It resumed its military offensive two weeks later , ending a two-month ceasefire with Hamas .
It said the steps were meant to put pressure on the armed group to release the 58 hostages still held in Gaza .
