Hagerty rally not enough in Class 7A state softball championship

69% Informative
Class 7A state softball championship game went to extra innings after rain delay, power outage.
Hagerty rallied with four runs in the sixth and seventh innings to force an extra frame.
Wellington was the team with the clutch hits, delivering in the bottom of the eighth to win the title.
The game was supposed to start at 5 p.m. , but heavy rains moved into the area just before gametime, drenching the fields.
“It’s just a great group of kids, a great group of seniors,” Kreahling said. “We have eight seniors that we’re gonna miss, but the program is bright moving forward. They played for each other and they loved each other and supported each other all season. “That’s the big thing I take away from the season is how much they really care for each other.” Chris Hays can be found on X.com @OS_ChrisHays..
