A new study finds a link between herpes simplex-1 and Alzheimer’s disease.
The study was conducted by scientists at Gilead Sciences in the U.S. It looked at medical records of nearly 400,000 Americans with health insurance.
It found that people with Alzheimer's and related conditions were also more likely to be diagnosed with HSV-1 .
The researchers also found a similar pattern with other forms of dementia related to Alzheimer's.
