A23a, the world's largest iceberg, is beginning to break apart alongside South Georgia island.

The giant iceberg is currently stuck in the Scotia Sea , but it could take months , if not years, for the entire slab to disappear.

Images from NASA 's Aqua satellite have revealed that the edges of the iceberg are starting to disintegrate, especially along its northern edge.
