Spotify is sorry that it revealed how many people listen to your podcast

Spotify announced earlier this month that it would publicly display how many plays podcasts had.

Podcasters were not happy with the new public play count.

Spotify is now rolling back the feature.

It will only publicly display plays once an episode crosses the 50,000 plays threshold.

The company is vague about how exactly plays are counted, saying only that the metric represents “how many times people actively tried your content”.
