Men die of a broken heart more often than women, new study finds

Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy , also known as broken heart syndrome, is brought on by physical or emotional stress.

The study looked at a total of 199,890 patients with the syndrome who were over the age of 18 from 2016 to 2020 .

While 5.5% of the female patients studied died due to the syndrome, men were more likely to die from it.
