Hidden magma cap discovered at Yellowstone National Park

Hidden "volatile rich" cap made of magma is about 2.4 miles below the Earth 's surface.

It essentially acts as a lid -- trapping pressure and heat below it.

The cap was found after scientists used a 53,000-pound vibroseis truck to generate tiny earthquakes that sent seismic waves into the ground.
