Edmonton man who stabbed teen during fight over money sentenced to five years in prison

Mwumpe Mulongoyi was sentenced April 14 after pleading guilty to a count of manslaughter.
He was initially charged with second -degree murder for the 2021 killing of Jordan Dawson .
Dawson , 19 , had deposited a $ 14,000 cheque into Mulongyi ’s RBC account, leaving him with just over $9,000 .
The two began to shove and punch each other in a park after a fight over a bank scam.
Dawson said he would cover the debt if he would “jump some people for him,” handing out a knife.
The knife was then used to stab Dawson , who suffered 20 stab wounds.
