Before Blue Origin’s All-Female Flight, ‘The Morning Show’ Sent a TV Anchor to Space

Reese Witherspoon ’s fictional TV anchor Bradley Jackson made a very similar trek on a 2023 episode of the Apple TV+ drama The Morning Show .

Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt says she was inspired to write a similar episode into the premiere of the show.

The episode marked “an incredibly convulsive moment in America ; the pandemic, the George Floyd protests, people felt really unmoored,” she says.

The Morning Show's Gayle Stoudt says she's more interested in Bezos ' involvement in the space race.

The show's fourth season will explore how TV news personalities become spokespeople for larger issues.

Marion Cotillard , Jeremy Irons and William Jackson are among the cast additions to the show.

Stoudt plays a “knockabout loudmouth podcaster,” a character description that may ring a few bells.

Watching an episode of The Morning Show shouldn’t feel like listening to a politically-slanted podcast, she says.

“The world is full of hot takes, for good and for ill. But we have to chase something beyond hot takes. We try not to take ourselves too seriously. But the issues we explore, those we take seriously, because they impact real human beings”.
