The survey was conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs in English and Spanish using KnowledgePanel , its nationally representative online research panel.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 1,391 teens is plus or minus 3.3 percentage points.
Panelists were eligible for participation if they indicated on an earlier profile survey that they were the parent of a teen ages 13 to 17 .
The project was guided by an advisory board of four members.
This board included experts in a variety of areas related to youth, including technology use and mental health.
