Live from the Masters, retired OKC radio legend Craig Humphreys still has stories to tell

Craig Humphreys , 72 , retired from WWLS-The Sports Animal in December 2023 , still works for a week every April to bring listeners live reports from Augusta National .
Humphreys made annual trips to the Masters as a fan several years before he got his start in radio.
In 1990 , Humphreys found a guy who was willing to sell him two badges for $ 550 each.
For five years ( 1993-97 ), Humphreys did his live reports from the on-course phone banks at Augusta .
As he paid his own way and obtained badges, Humphreys would stop by the media center and lobby for a press credential.
"They were nice to me, but they’d say, Go away, boy, you’re too small," Humphreys said.
