FHSAA Softball Rankings: 9 Pensacola-area teams projected to make region tournaments.

Pace, the area's top-ranked team, is No. 4 overall with a 23.093 rating and a 13 -1 record.

Five Escambia and Santa Rosa county teams are in the top 100 .

The postseason for high school softball begins April 23 , marking the start of district tournaments.

The regional playoffs begin May 7 and 8 , depending on the classification.

The top team in each district wins the district tournament and moves onto regionals.

Mandarin , ranked ninth in the region, gets an automatic bid as the presumed District 2 champion.

The Patriots , as long as they keep winning, would host throughout the region tournament.

All four presumed district champions are in the top eight teams, and they all host in the quarterfinals.

Region 1-1A doesn't have any local teams, either, with LEAD Academy on the outside looking in. Region 1-Rural - 1. Jay ( 1 )
