Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claims curve is flattening in Texas measles outbreak.
Nearly 500 measles cases have been confirmed in Texas , with more counties reporting infections.
Public health specialists say they are skeptical about the curve flattening and believe cases are likely much higher than official count.
Two physicians have "treated and healed" about 300 children infected with measles in a Mennonite community with aerosolized budesonide and clarithromycin.
"I don't think that they're hurting anyone, but they're probably not helping anyone," expert says.
The CDC recommends that people receive two doses of the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine.
