A security flaw in Verizon 's Call Filter app may have exposed the call histories of millions of customers to hackers, a new report has found.
The issue was discovered by ethical hacker Evan Connelly , who warned that 'this wasn't just a data leak, but a real-time surveillance mechanism waiting to be abused' The vulnerability allowed unauthorized users to retrieve detailed incoming call logs for any Verizon number through the app's back-end server.
Verizon has not confirmed how many customers were impacted by this security flaw.
