Loudoun Co. School Board votes against Dominion Energy powerline project near schools
82% Informative
After a long and heated session of public comment at the Loudoun County School board meeting on Tuesday night , the school board has voted against allowing Dominion Energy to run overhead powerlines on the campus of Rock Ridge High School and Rosa Lee Carter Elementary School . The school board is asking the power company to use underground lines instead. Dominion created the Golden to Mars powerlines project to meet future demands. The plan would need to build powerlines about 100-185 feet high. However, the school board has rejected the planned routes for those powerlines which forces Dominion to consider other nearby communities..
