B.C. business support for NDP's Bill 7 turns distinctly lukewarm

67% Informative
The Business Council of B.C. and the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade had strong statements of support for Bill 7 .
Those statements angered some business leaders because of what came across as unqualified support for the bill.
The Greens had called for “substantial’s changes in Bill 7 within a day of it being introduced in the legislature.
The New Democrats actively solicit endorsements from business groups and others for their legislation and policies. They sometimes quote those “validators” in their announcements and news releases. But the experience with Bill 7 suggests a cautionary tale for groups allowing themselves to be used in that way. In helping out the government with rushed endorsements, they put their own credibility at risk..
