Calgary political observers brace for 'unpredictable' election season

70% Informative
Liberal Leader Mark Carney kicks off his campaign Sunday after asking Gov. Gen. Mary Simon to dissolve Parliament .
Political observers say the campaign will be shaped less by party platforms and more by external forces.
Experts say voters are looking for a “steady hand on the wheel” as economic uncertainty and Canada - U.S. tensions intensify.
The election call comes amid a significant polling reversal for the Liberals since Justin Trudeau resigned.
Both Williams and Young suggest the campaign trail in Calgary will be more active, and perhaps more aggressive, than past federal campaigns.
“For the Conservatives , the idea of losing Calgary seats is painful because this is their home turf,” Young said.
As the six-week campaign begins, Williams predicted a turbulent road ahead.
