Voting in Canada's 2025 federal election: What you need to know

Canada ’s next federal election takes place on Monday, April 28, 2025 .
The election will send Canadians to the polls to vote for a new member of Parliament in their own riding.
By law, the official campaign period is required to be at least 37 days but no longer than 51 days .
To be eligible to vote, you must be a Canadian citizen who is at least 18 years of age .
You can vote in person at Elections Canada offices between the time the election is called March 23 and election day on April 28 .
You can also vote in advance during one of four advance election days on April 18, 19 , 20 and 21 .
Elections Canada was working to update its website and the Voter Information Service will be available shortly.
