Eugene Daniels on Democratic backlash: ‘Voters want someone to do something’

MSNBC senior Washington correspondent Eugene Daniels , incoming host of the weekend , Tara Setmeyer and former Republican communications director, Tara Daniels .

Democrats are trying to fill that void, with the likes of Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez , 10s of thousands , showed up to their fighting oligarchy rally in Denver just last night .

Daniels : "It's the political revolution all over again. The whole world is watching and they want to know if the people of America are going to stand up to Trumpism, oligarchy and authoritarianism".

Senator Andy Kim was in a town hall in Egg Harbor City , a district that is represented by a Republican , Jeff Van Drew , who won 50% of the vote in 2024 .

Kim : People need leadership. They are desperate for it, which is why Bernie Sanders has emerged as that person and AOC who's very good at this and does actually speak plain language. But I do think that they need to seize on the opportunity that this is not a partisan issue. The only part that's partisan is who's doing it to you.

The Democrats are used to putting a nice little fancy title on something, and that that's got the problem.

The problem, that's the problem that where they are. The problem is that Democrats also don't have an alternative. They're clearly the opposition. They have to be able to give people an alternative.
