Johns Hopkins University says it is cutting more than 2,000 workers due to cut to federal aid

More than $800 million in USAID funding has led to the loss of 1,975 positions in 44 countries internationally and 247 in the United States .
Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced earlier this week that 83 percent of USAID ’s programs would be canceled.
The remaining 18 percent of programs will now be administered more effectively under the State Department , Rubio said.
