Elianne Andam murder: Hassan Sentamu jailed for life

67% Informative
Hassan Sentamu , then 17 , attacked Elianne Andam with a kitchen knife outside a shopping centre in Croydon , south London .
He had admitted manslaughter but was found guilty of murder at the Old Bailey .
The court heard he had a history of attacking girls and carrying knives.
The judge said: "The pain of her loss to her parents and younger brother is indescribable".
Elianne Andam was "brutally killed in broad daylight by a 17-year-old who showed no mercy" Pastor Mark Rossell said the justice system had "failed to reflect the sheer brutality" of the killing.
The Andam family were critical of Sentamu 's minimum term, saying it left them feeling "abandoned and unheard".
