A goldendoodle named Faygo was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December and his health has rapidly declined.
Michelle Martin posted a message on her local email list urging people to stop and pet Faygo.
Faygo has been a favourite pet for most of his 12 years , waiting for people to notice him and say hello.
Neighbours have been visiting Faygo in his final days to pet and comfort the dog.
Michelle Martin and Joe Martin's next-door neighbour Scott Horton said he believes all the extra love from neighbors has extended Faygo ’s life.
“ Michelle and Joe are the epitome of fur-baby parents,” Horton said.
