‘Stand Up for Science’ rally expected to draw thousands to D.C.
83% Informative
Stand Up for Science rallies set to take place Friday in Washington and at demonstrations across the country.
Organizers say they aren’t just pushing back against recent freezes on scientific grants or firings of hundreds of government scientists.
They are also demanding an expansion in funding for scientific research and the reinstatement of initiatives on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Organizers say they aren't sure if their event will be as large as past March for Science events.
Organizers are calling on scientists who cannot attend any of the events to hold walkouts at their labs or offices.
There are also at least 31 other rallies scheduled across the country.
