Councillors get heated as they approve South Shaganappi LAP

The South Shaganappi LAP is a long-term plan to guide future proposed developments in northwest Calgary .
Earlier in the day , council approved the Riley Communities LAP , after an hours -long public hearing that saw more than a dozen residents voice displeasure with how much densification the plan permitted.
Ward 7 councillor Terry Wong brought forward three amendments to the LAP in an attempt to claw back some of the densification allowances.
Ward 12 councillor Evan Spencer accused Wong of bringing forward quid pro quo’ amendments that were swayed by public commentary.
