Brotherhood of Mankind’ sculptures could be relocated to a public art gallery.
The iconic sculptures have been a fixture in downtown Calgary since the late 1960s .
The sculptures could soon find a new home on the west end of downtown, as part of a $150-million renovation project.
Contemporary Calgary’s CEO, David Leinster , confirmed Wednesday that the gallery is interested in housing the statues in its future community garden.
A letter of support from the Cummings family calls the art piece’s relocation to the gallery a “perfect homecoming” for the planetarium.
The planetarium has its own roots in Calgary 's history as a centennial project.
