Teaching women to build confidence through action: An interview with Cara Poppitt

64% Informative
Calgary entrepreneur, speaker and coach Cara Poppitt has been advocating for years to her clients.
The current model of confidence is backwards, she said, something she first noticed about a decade ago .
Women for instance will only apply for a job once they feel they meet 80 to 90 per cent of the qualifications, while men will apply for roles where they meet only 30 to 50 per cent.
“You don’t (get) your confidence one day and have it forever. It’s a muscle,” she said.
Women especially, she said, have a hard time prioritizing self-investment over others.
Ninety-five per cent of our actions and thoughts are primarily subconscious.
