Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not leaving office for almost two years , but the fight to replace him has already sparked intense jockeying among Republicans .

DeSantises are trying to slow the ascent of Rep. Byron Donalds , who picked up Trump 's endorsement on the heels of Trump 's 13 -point win in Florida last year .
