1,000 elementary students suspended over immunization records

More than 1,000 elementary school students in Windsor and Essex County have been suspended as of Monday for incomplete immunization records.
The Immunizations of Schools Pupils Act stipulates that students must be vaccinated for diphtheria, measles, mumps, polio, rubella and tetanus.
The health unit reviewed 45,139 records in the fall and concluded that 98 per cent of students were up to date.
