Intuitive Machines is the first private company to successfully land on the moon's surface.
The company's Athena lander is scheduled to launch Wednesday at 7:17 p.m. ET from NASA ’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida .
It will carry a drill and set of instruments to study the chemical makeup of rocks and soil beneath the lunar surface.
If all goes according to plan on Wednesday , the spacecraft could touch down as early as March 6 .
