National Governors Associations winter meeting begins today in Washington , D.C. The organization prioritizes bipartisanship, which will be meeting over the next two days to discuss national issues, including education, reforms to the countries of permitting process and public health and disaster response.

Democratic Governor Jerry Polis of Colorado , Democratic Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma , Republican Governor John Kasich of Oklahoma .

Governor Polis says the federal government is spending too much money and the states need to have input into that.

He says tariffs are devastating there, in many ways, the most devastating part of President Trump 's agenda.

Polis: We need to look at the spending that we're doing nationally, $2 trillion in excess spending is not sustainable over the long term.
