Lawmakers unanimously approved bill that will toughen penalties for anyone denying atrocities were carried out in the late 1970s under the rule of the Khmer .
The seven -article bill makes violation of its terms punishable by up to five years in prison and a fine of between $2,500 and $125,000 .
In 2013 Cambodia enacted a similar law against denying atrocities after then-Prime Minister Hun Sen called for the measure.
