73% Informative
Venezuelan kayaker Adrián Simancas was eaten by a humpback whale off Chile 's Patagonian coast.
The 23-year-old had been paddling through the Strait of Magellan with his father when he felt something "hit me from behind, closing in on me and sinking me" But within seconds , he realised he was inside the whale's mouth.
The creature spat him back out - and the encounter was captured on video by his father.
Humpback whales have narrow throats designed for swallowing small fish and shrimp.
