A new poll by the Angus Reid Institute released Thursday underscores that shift in attitudes toward energy development.
In the summer of 2023 , just 23 per cent of Canadians said creating growth was their priority when considering the country’s energy policies.
Today , attitudes are moving. Creating economic growth is a top priority for respondents, a 20 -percentage point jump in less than 18 months .
Reducing emissions and environmental protection has slid 13 points to 31 per cent .
The lower 10 per cent rate provided a “huge sigh of relief among the Canadian operating companies,” Neveu said.
Larger geopolitical events, which are always an issue in the global oil markets, could have more of an impact on prices and drilling activity than the tariff issues.
