Councillors made a few changes to the proposed Public Spaces Bylaw this week after hearing from more than 50 speakers.
The new edited version clarifies the bylaw will not prevent Edmontonians from exercising their fundamental freedoms, such as free expression, in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
Mayor Amarjeet Sohi said council wants to make sure Edmontonians ’ free-expression rights are protected.
